The concept here is that the MTT solution will turn mitochondrial succinate dehydrogenase purple if the cells are alive, and no colour change would occur if the cells are dead. Looking at the 96 pore hole board, the cells turned a dark purple colour, indicating that most cells still survived. This is not the intended result as we wanted to kill the cancer cells; this outcome may be the consequence of the different sized nanoparticles used to deliver RNAi, reducing the endocytosis of nanoparticles, thus, the release of the RNAi. Overall, I realized that conducting experiments ourselves was than watching others do it. The different mediums and buffers that we had to add was a challenge to our memories. But thanks to our frantic note taking, we were able to keep up with the procedures. On the whole, research and experiments are precise and arduous work that requires high concentration to achieve. Us as beginners got a taste of this field and look forward to future opportunities. In this world of science, we seek to unravel the issues that burden the heart of humanity.
